Anonymous asked: jas sherlock played the violin recently?

I played Monday evening. I haven’t had the calling towards it since.

You might find a calling today. Lestrade rang. Double homicide in Wales.

You’re lucky, John.

Hmm?

I was planning on growing ivy out of a human heart. Very telling, but also very time consuming. It was going to have to sit near the window for two weeks.

Christ, Sherlock. You should get my approval on these things before even thinking about them. Mrs. Hudson would have thrown a fit.

No need.

Anonymous asked: What do you guys do to relax?

Tea. Lots of it.

He reads the paper. I tend to play the violin.

Bloody awful if you’re panicky.

Really enjoy your comment. Thank you.

Sorry.

Your sideways glance and thumb twitch says you’re not.

Anonymous asked: So for your birthday I would offer cake, but I'm not sure if that would be favored or not. So instead I offer some spare violin strings and a riddle. "Delicate and abundant, Millions to come by. Cherished or hated, When around most stay inside."

Cake has already been provided sadly, but the riddle (and strings… I may have destroyed my extra set) is definitely a compromise. John says he’d like to guess first.

Ragweed?

I was thinking snowflakes. Not many people cherish ragweed, John.

Bugger.

Anonymous asked: what do you both want for christmas?

Dead bodies.

I don’t know if Santa can manage that one, Sherlock.

An intricate case is well needed.

I’d like Sherlock to clean the flat. That’d be nice. And no fighting tomorrow when everyone is over.

And a million quid at this rate?

That’d be nice. Yes.

Looks as if we both won’t be getting what we want this year.

I’m not going to murder someone just for your pleasure and Christmas gift!

You could just hire someone…

No. No. No. Go play the violin- that’s all I want.

Fine.

residentfangirl-deactivated2013 asked: Sherlock, are you working on any pieces for the violin?

Other than the one for John (on the nights he has trouble sleeping) I am, yes. There’s around two currently, but really they could be considered as a whole if wished. As for what inspired them, I’m not sure. Boredom, I suppose? John? I haven’t the slightest actually.

Anonymous asked: Wait, Gladstone has Sherlock's violin? She sits on its case?! Or, do you mean you, John, took his violin to ensure cooperation? Either way that is hilarious.

He caused an explosion in the kitchen earlier and I took it to prevent him doing it again. I was planning on giving it back before evening, however I highly doubt it will happen. He temporarily paralyzed the cat. Bloody hell.

But the cat does similar things like that… she generally looms around his laptop so he can’t get on it.

Anonymous asked: If you weren't together, what would you be doing this very moment?

If, by saying separated, you mean never had met at all my answer would be simple: dead. Drugs, case, poor experiment… death was planned early on for me.

I really hate when you talk like that, you berk.

“Doe eyes” do nothing for the situation, John.

You did stop with the violin.

To respond to you on my phone, yes.  Obviously I can’t play and control the device simultaneously. I’m not that talented.

Continue playing, though. Did you compose this one yourself?

Partially, yes.

Without meeting Sherlock I’d probably have had moved in with Harry around this time. Seems reasonable enough to me.

seeingtheunimaginable-blog-blog asked: Sherlock, I was wondering what your favorite piece of classical music is. All forms of classical music have been my inspiration for playing violin and piano lately. Not to mention they help me think. Also: Hello, John! How are you today?

I don't usually have a one selected piece that I admire most- I use them all at different times for various reasons. My previous response can be found here.

It would be good for you.

The violin? I agree.

Can I come back in then?

I suppose.

My day has been just a bit short of delightful. Sarah didn’t need me at the surgery so I’ve been able to spend sometime with the prattish git (except for the times I’ve been outside and civilians ask me questions. One thought I was waiting for my dog to come home. The other asked if I got into trouble with the wife again, which somehow seems correct). Overall it’s been a decent day. I was able to have Sherlock to eat some eggs this morning.

Dull.

Go away.

Can’t. I’m not allowing the violin out of the flat.

Just.. be nice.

Don’t roll your eyes.

Okay, that’s enough. No need to get angered.

Sherlock, put the knife down.

Oh, but I can’t do that now, can I?

I’m sleeping in my old bedroom tonight.

As if that will help.
